Tour anno 2010

My first route through Asia, 2010

By the end of August in 2010, I was ready to take off for the first time. 18 years old and no clue what I was getting myself into; the route I had mapped out didn't quite push through. I was narrow-minded towards how big the world really is, and arrogant towards what kind of beauty I could experience and feel around me in villages and off-track. In fact, my first mapping revealed 7 countries - and all I wanted to see was each capital. Now, let's say the horizon has expanded to the actual scale of Mother Earth, and I do believe that each little patch of land has the ability to inspire whoever visits.

When I found myself on a flight going back to Norway mid-December 2010, my path had gone astray from my original (whom was indeed non-original) plan and turned into the following:

Beijing, China - Dali, China - Kunming, China - Hanoi, Vietnam - Halong Bay, Vietnam - Singapore - Manila, the Philippines - Boracay, the Philippines - Kalibo, the Philippines

NORWEGIAN/NORSK:

Mot slutten av august 2010, var jeg klar til avreise første gang. 18 år gammel og null snøring om hva jeg dro meg selv inn i; ruten jeg hadde kartlagt ble mildt sagt snudd på hodet. Jeg var litt sneversynt om hvor stor verden virkelig var, og arrogant mot hvilken skjønnhet jeg kunne oppleve og føle i landsbyer og på baksiden av turistbeltene. Nå ler jeg over den første ruten min, som besto av 7 land - og alt jeg skulle besøke var hovedstedene. I dag har jeg fått ett litt mer realistisk syn på Moder Jord, og jeg holder fast i troen på at hver lille flekk med jord har muligheten til å inspirere dem som besøker det. 

Når jeg befant meg på ett fly tilbake til Norge i midten av desember samme år, hadde stien min forvillet seg litt bort fra den orginale (som var veldig uorginal, i utgangspunktet) idèen, og ble erstattet med dette:
